Method:
Split the dry chickpeas into large bowls
Pour some drops of your chosen liquid food colouring into each bowl and stir using a metal spoon. If you would like your chickpeas to be brighter and more intense in colour add more drops.
Continue to stir until all the chickpeas are coated with colour.
Cover baking trays with foil or baking parchment and spread the coloured chickpeas on top. Leave them to air dry for 24 hours to ensure that the chickpeas are completely dry.
Repeat the process to create different coloured chickpeas
Store in an airtight container between uses
