Yoghurt finger paint

Ingredients:

  • Natural yoghurt or Greek yoghurt
  • Different-coloured standard food colouring or neon food colouring for a brighter, bolder colour
  • Small bowls or shallow trays
  • Spoon

Instructions:

  • Divide the yoghurt between several small bowls or shallow trays.
  • Add a couple of drops of different-coloured food colouring into each of the bowls/trays. If you would like your yoghurt paint a deeper shade of colour, add more drops or alternatively use neon food colouring for a brighter, bolder colour.
  • Stir the mixture well until the colour has fully combined with the yoghurt.
  • The yoghurt paint is now ready for children to discover, manipulate and play with.
  • Try placing the paint trays on a large wipeable sheet on the floor for young children to access easily as they sit and explore. Alternatively, you could pop some dollops of yoghurt paint onto a highchair tray or baking tray for children to paint, mix and smear the colours.
  • Children may like to dip their fingers into the paint or you could provide tools, such as chunky paintbrushes, pastry or basting brushes for children to use to make marks.
