Different-coloured standard food colouring or neon food colouring for a brighter, bolder colour
Small bowls or shallow trays
Spoon
Instructions:
Divide the yoghurt between several small bowls or shallow trays.
Add a couple of drops of different-coloured food colouring into each of the bowls/trays. If you would like your yoghurt paint a deeper shade of colour, add more drops or alternatively use neon food colouring for a brighter, bolder colour.
Stir the mixture well until the colour has fully combined with the yoghurt.
The yoghurt paint is now ready for children to discover, manipulate and play with.
Try placing the paint trays on a large wipeable sheet on the floor for young children to access easily as they sit and explore. Alternatively, you could pop some dollops of yoghurt paint onto a highchair tray or baking tray for children to paint, mix and smear the colours.
Children may like to dip their fingers into the paint or you could provide tools, such as chunky paintbrushes, pastry or basting brushes for children to use to make marks.
